Hard to believe that Joseph Porter's words and Blyth Power's high energy music have entertained and informed the general public for over thirty years. One of the bands who give quirky a good name, they have always worked from a broad canvas probing the inner motivations of historical figures and commenting on more contemporary dilemmas. The title of their latest album 'Women and Horses and Power and War' gives a pretty fair indication of a world which is forever Blyth.
Joining them for this gig will be two members of the excellent Headsticks, Chris Butler and Sue Macfarlane. Rumour has it this gig will also commemorate the significant birthday of some local dignitary and that in a rare moment of philanthropy he has pledged some of the door to Hope for Belper.
