Turned out nice again ! Ok, I know the great George Formby played the banjulele but with the Indian Summer in control, it just seemed appropriate. Phil is clearly no stranger to Belper audiences after his long collaborations with Ian Emmerson and triumphant show at this year's festival. Expect the usual dynamic range from jazz and blues to dance mix circa 1600 via the work of John Dowland. The current resurgence of the ukulele is in no small part due to Phil's pioneering work.
Dead Man's Uke will make their Belper debut bringing what is described as footstomping resonator ukulele and double bass to the venue. A father and son duo with deep Americana roots, they complete a unique double bill. Following Steve Ignorant and Andy T's return, this gig clearly emphasises the eclectic menu available in the coming year.
