The new season opens with the return of perennial favourite, Anthony John Clarke. A longtime member of the extended Fairport family where he is described as a 'national treasure', Anthony comes to the Queens Head fresh from compering duties at the Cropredy Festival.However, this show will focus on Anthony's impressive back catalogue reminding us what a fine and versatile songwriter he is. Given that it will be a Saturday night, it is safe to assume that karaoke will not be on the menu.
Looking further ahead, September will also bring the finest in local music with Moon Bullet and IBC (Friday 16th) followed closely by Harp and a Monkey riding high on the back of a four star Guardian review for their latest album. Old favourites like Steve Ignorant, David Rovics and Andy White return along with some exciting artists making their Belper debut. An eclectic and electric menu.
