Mirth ,mischief ....and musicianship..

Quite an iconic picture. The young chap on the far right will be accompanying Anthony John Clarke at The Queens Head, Belper on Saturday November 15th. When Ashley Hutchings called it a Fairport day in 1969, Dave Pegg was the only logical re-inforcement. Replacing 'Tyger's' percussive bass with a more melodic response to the new jigs and reels Fairport, Peggy has now underpinned the band for 45 years. A musician who has played with everyone from John Bonham to latterday Jethro Tull, Peggy's wit and musicianship provides the perfect counterpoint to the crafted songwriting of Anthony John Clarke.

Emmy winning songwriter, Bob Cheevers, returns to Belper on November 8th.
From his early L A days through Nashville to Austin Texas, Bob is one of America's most respected and prolific songwriters with titles recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. He even supported Cash on his last tour. As recently as 2014 he was nominated for 'Singer/ Songwriter of The Year' and In 2011 won the coveted 'Texas Music Award' which is all the more impressive when you consider that Austin is not exactly short of fine writers and performers. Now, with his new album 'On Earth as it is in Austin,' Bob makes a welcome return to The Queens Head,Belper. A welcome return for two of the greats of the folk/rock scene .
Unfortunately Patsy's tour has now been cancelled. We hope to find a replacement so please watch this space.
