Formed from the ashes of The Clay Faces, Stoke on Trent's finest are usually categorised as Celtic Punk. The folk influences are there for sure as is the punk attitude and energy. However, Headsticks' writing and performance manages to encompass a wider range of roots with even a country tinge to some songs. They started as a four piece in late 2012 and by July 2013 were opening at The Tolpuddle Festival where they set the standard for an excellent weekend. A year later and their debut album 'Muster' was released to widespread acclaim and it really is a fine album with a musical and emotional range to satisfy all. Now as a five piece they return to Belper bringing with them their own support act. Expect an evening of high energy folk rock with more than thoughful lyrics and spirited performance proving that a musical collision of folk and punk can be more exhilerating than fusion. Please note that the support act is now confirmed as Mark Bailey aka The Trent Vale Poet. |
