Sunjay returns to The Queens Head on March 7th.
Although now West Midlands based, Sunjay is in fact a son of Derby who has packed much into his 21 years. An accomplished and versatile guitarist, Sunjay has already toured and recorded with the likes of Dave Pegg, John Renbourn and Steeleye Span, and when an artist of Terry Reid's maturity acclaims him as an amazing picker, you feel you have to sit up and pay attention.
Sunjay's musical routes can be traced back not only to the folk blues of the 1930s but equally to great 1960s interpreters such as Tom Rush and Jackson C Franks, channeling the whole genre in a new and exciting direction. One of the outstanding acts at last year's Derby Folk Festival, Sunjay brings a vibrant and eclectic brew to the stage.
