A new and distinctive voice.
Dennis Ellsworth plays The Queens Head on February 7th. Firmly established on the club and festival circuit in his native Canada, Dennis Ellsworth brings his distinctive song writing to the Belper venue. His latest album 'Hazy Sunshine'was recorded over a period of five days in a remote location in the middle of a bleak Canadian Winter and some of that sense of desolation finds its way onto the tracks. Describing his outlook as one of 'dark optimism', Dennis was originally inspired by the likes of Roy Orbison and Kris Kristofferson and remembers practising their works in the bathroom as a child. With the transition from bathroom to bar room and an acoustic guitar 'rescued ' from a Catskills cabin, Dennis quickly recorded six albums and widened his fan base to America and the UK.
