Brooklyn balladeer,Rebecca Pronsky, plays Belper Rugby Club on June 20th. Leaving Browns ssUniversity with a degree in Music Ethnology and Jazz plus a demo disc,Rebecca quickly established herself on the alt country scene though her music is far harder to categorise. Drawing on influences as diverse as Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan,she has been described as fusing The Smiths with Nashville.With her latest album,'Only daughter' drawing four star reviews from both Maverick magazine and The Daily Telegraph',this gig is sure to be a Midsummer Night's Dream. Moreover,proceeds will contribute to the planting of trees at Belper Rugby Club.
